In 2003 President Scott
appointed an Advisory Committee made up of members and stewards at the
Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS). This committee
was formed to offer input on a multitude of issues facing the Union at
DMHAS. One of the major issues was the agency's request for flexibility in
re-assigning members within the agency, and the Union’s proposal for
annual shift and work location bidding.
Following
the successful conclusion of contract negotiations early this year, which
saw language that would establish an Annual Shift and Work Location
bidding process for most of the Union, President Scott realized that the
idea of member-based advisory committees would be of great value during
the negotiations over the conditions and implementation of this process at
the larger agencies. To this end President Scott called on members and
stewards to volunteer to serve on a number of advisory committees that
would assist him in preparing for these negotiations.
Below
you will find a listing of the advisory committees, the agencies they
represent and their members. If you have any questions or suggestions on
the bidding process at one of these agencies, please feel free to contact
a committee member or President Scott directly.
